About Villa Acacias

A lovingly restored Maison de Maitre in a spectacular elevated position overlooking the banks of the Dordogne river. The house was once home to a famous French minister,
The house is set in 8000 square meters of garden in an area designated “of special interest” due to the close proximity of the canal with its series of ancient locks opening onto the river.

The house has eight bedrooms ( 8 double beds, one single and one cot) and four main bathrooms making this an ideal rental for Family groups and friends.( Additional 2 double bedrooms available in The Lodge: see www.villaacacias.com/thelodge) All mod cons fitted: gas central heating, telephone, satellite plasma TV, water softener, washer/dryer machines and fully fitted French style kitchen with large Falcon range style cooker and dishwasher. Wifi available. There are multiple terraces overlooking the dordogne river both for shade and sun and are a must for outdoor dining.

The infinity swimming pool (fitted with safety alarm), has south facing terraces, with natural shading, overlooking the river, ideal for those hot summer days and special balmy evenings.

Explore the banks of the river and canal on an extensive network of bikeways (bikes available for guests use at their own risk). There is an outdoor table tennis table for guests.

The house is ideally positioned for exploring this popular area of the Perigord, famous for it's excellent cuisine and fine wines. Old Bergerac is thronged with street restaurants. The area is well known for it's delightful villages, castles and pre-historic sites. There is just so much of real interest on the doorstep. Above all this house must have one of the finest positions in the Dordogne. Bergerac airport is ten minutes drive away. A 9 hole Golf course is within walking distance, and there are over 140 vineyards in the vicinity to explore.
